Abdul Jabbar, MD 2009-2010

Projects:

  • Raised $56000 and contributed to HDF built 22 houses for Earthquake victim families
  • Provided School supplies and winter clothing to 50 poor children in Elizabethtown schools
  • Contributed $10,000 to salvation army to help poor in Elizabethtown area.
 

 

Muhammad Masroor, MD 2008-2009

Projects:

  • Revised Bylaws, including first ever open feedback and approval from members.
  • Initiated executive committee election process by creation of election committee.
  • Started Wayside mission soup kitchen sponsorship.
  • Updated APPKI email list serve.
  • Raised almost $ 100, 000 and contributed to zindagi trust fund.
  • Prior to the presidency initiated, created, launched and served as editor-in-chief of APPKI Newsletter.
 

 

Sohail Ikran, MD 2007-2008

Projects:

  • First fundraiser in Louisville Community for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital attended by Imran Khan raising $100,000.
  • Collection and shipment of supplies for victims of Earthquake in Pakistan.
  • Distribution of toys at Kosair Children Hospital.
 

 

Aftab Ahmed, MD 2004-2005

Projects:

Rafiq Rehman, MD 2002-2003

Projects:

  • It being the year after 9/11 I stressed to project a positive view of our community through Advertisements in print media as well as personal contacts
  • APPKI was honoured to have Sen Mitch McConnell as chief guest on our August Function indicating a growing clout of a very young organization.
  • Social activism was started by members both at local and national level.
  • APPKI executive comittee started to file tax returns.
  • The core comittee structure and future trustee structure as well as bylaws were further streamlined.
  • Database for Pakistani American community and APPKI members was initiated
  • Individual members doing social welfare work both in Pakistan and United States started to identify with APPKI creating goodwill and recognition for APPKI
 

 

Zaka Ur Rehman, MD 2001-2002

Projects:

  • Founding president for for two years since inception of APPKI in 2003.
  • First APPKI summer event was at Robert Lee Inn , NewAlbany during summer of 2004.
  • First Spring Function, also known as New Hampshire Caucus of APPNA general elections, was arranged at Jewish Hospital in March 2005.
  • Chairman Host committee, APPNA Spring meeting March 2008
