Dear APPKI Family,
I would like to thank you all for entrusting me as your president.
Since March 2012, we are trying our best to serve the community to the best of our capabilities. I am blessed with a new energetic Executive Committee including President Elect Dr. Vasdev Lohano, Secretary Dr Asad Ismail and Treasurer Dr. Samina Juneja. I am also lucky to have Dr. Babar Cheema as a past president in the executive committee. Let me take this opportunity to briefly update you with few APPKI activities.
1. On June 16th we had a very successful and well-attended APPKI Mushaira.
2. In Ramadan, we have launched a statewide campaign “Feed and Treat” the community.
3. Though Louisville community has been doing this work under the leadership of our own Dr. Asim Piracha but I am glad to report that other communities very well receives this campaign and we have gained new grounds for APPKI like London and Danville.
4. I have witnessed the community enthusiasm personally in Lexington and Danville and in spirit at other places.
5. Volunteers at these sites are geared up and planning to continue their work under the banner of our organization.
6. We will be starting the second phase of our campaign ”Treat the community” in near future
7. On September 2nd we will have an exciting Hockey match between Louisville and Chicago teams, in Louisville, KY
8. On September 8th, we will have our first APPKI Cricket Champions trophy tournament in Lexington, KY.
9. Four teams are participating in this tournament; Louisville, Lexington, London and E-Town
10. We will have our 2012 Dinner after Eid al Adha.
We would like to thank all of our volunteers for their dedication and commitment and also our community members for their guidance and participation.
